As a Let’s GO taxi driver, you should approach taxi entrepreneurs in your area and follow their job advertisements. Let’s GO taxi’s parent company DRide Oy does not act as a taxi driver at all, that work is done by private taxi entrepreneurs. It is worth being active and having a lively attitude when looking for work.

A driver works with different people in different situations and most often one-on-one with a customer. Therefore, he is required to have a background that allows him to guarantee a safe travel experience for customers in his profession. A person is not suitable to be a taxi driver if he has committed traffic or other crimes that show that he is clearly unfit to work as a taxi driver. Suitability is assessed by Traficom based on information available from official registers.

The profession of taxi driver is subject to licensing. As a taxi driver, you need a taxi driver’s license issued by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom. The license is valid for five years at a time and is therefore temporary.

• You must have a valid class B driver’s license issued in Finland, another European Union member state or a state belonging to the European Economic Area (EEA state), which you have had for at least one year
• You meet the health requirements for professional traffic (Section 18 of the Driving Licence Act)
• You have successfully completed the taxi driver’s exam (in Finnish or Swedish).
• The taxi driver’s exam has 50 multiple-choice questions and takes a maximum of 45 minutes. Once you have a taxi driver’s license, you can apply to become a Let’s GO taxi driver using the form below. We will consider it in your best interest if a Let’s GO driver recommends you.

If you do not pass the exam on the first attempt, you will have the opportunity to retake it in two weeks at the earliest. If you still have not passed the exam, subsequent exam sessions will be subject to a fee and the schedule must be agreed with the supervisor.
